Staff Accountant

We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to support our finance operations, with a focus on month-end closings, general ledger accuracy, and financial reporting. This role requires a strong accounting background, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will provide and process financial information for our plant in Inwood, NY.

• Support and execute month-end close activities
• Reconcile inventory, AR, and AP subledgers to the GL
• Analyze and post prepaid expenses and monthly accruals
• Review GL activity for tax filings and fixed assets
• Prepare Goods in Transit, Freight, and Duty accruals
• Perform GL account analyses and maintain financial records
• Monitor AR (i-controller), apply customer payments, and perform cash reconciliations
• Assist with external audit preparations (June & December)
• Provide backup support for AP/AR processing and treasury tasks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SAP
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management and communication abilities
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
• Structured, accurate, and reliable
• Customer-focused with a service mindset
• Able to prioritize and multitask under pressure
• Acts with professionalism and discretion
