GOAL
The purpose of the role is to plan and implement sales and marketing activities in order to meet company targets for retention, growth and profitability, and to contribute to the success of the Company as a sales and marketing expert.
To conduct activities according to the business Mission statement.

  • ACTIVITIES
    o Plan and implement marketing strategy, including advertising and PR.
    o Plan and implement sales and customer retention and development
    o Support the business in its growth strategy, contributing to formulation of long term strategy and policy.
    o Take lead role in commercial negotiations with buyers & executive chefs for the regional & group concerns in; hotels, contract caterers, travel, restaurant, conference venues, coffee and food on the go and any such like suitable catering operators.
    o Take lead role in commercial negotiations with buyers in the leading regional & national bakery markets
    o Undertaking detailed research of industry standards, needs & expectations.
    o Plan and manage sales and marketing resources according to agreed budgets.
    o Maintain administration and relevant reporting and planning systems.
    o Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for the GM /Group management and Chairman.
    o Liaise with external agencies such as the Food Agency
    o Manage R&D and NPD and new business development
    o Attending Exhibitions, Food Shows, building relationships through networking events and promoting the Pidy brand.
    o Maintain and develop corporate image and reputation, and protect and develop the company’s brands via suitable PR activities and intellectual property management.
    o Plan and manage internal communications and awareness of corporate direction, mission, aims and activities in own area of expertise
    o Undertake any other reasonable duties as designated by the Proprietor/General Manager/Group management
  • COMPETENCIES & EDUCATION
    o Proven experience in fast moving customer goods
    o You must be able to demonstrate success and experience of managing major accounts customers and large contracts, particularly archieving genuine sales development
    o You already have experience as an account manager and have experience in marketing
    o Experience of tendering process would be advantageous
    o Essential – Good educational standard
    o Desirable – Relevant Commercial and Food Manufacturing NVQ’s
    o Desirable – Commercial Institute of Management Diploma
    o You have a network in foodsector : industry, foodservice and retail
    o If necessary and on request, you can give food demos to customers. This both on the spot at the customers/prospects and at trade fairs.
    o You have proven skills in commercial negotiations
    o You have a good understanding of Technicality of Production activity data
    o You know the health and safety requirements in the sector. You are always attentive to ensure that these are strictly followed.
    o Clients are central: you think along with them. Not only are you a door opener, you also ensure that customers are and remain satisfied. You have an eye for cross- and upselling.
    o Analytical competencies: you ensure correct follow-up and provide the required reporting to group management.
    o Communication is key, both internally and externally. You are a very good communicator face-to-face, by phone and by e-mail. You say what you do and do what you say.
    In addition, you ensure good communication with the back office team. All administrative tasks linked to the sales tasks are closely managed by you and your team.
    o You work closely together with the operational director, together you report to the GM or group management.
    o Managing skills: you lead by example, dedicate yourself to improve your team and coach them towards good results.
    o Knowledge of languages: you speak and write English very well, a knowledge of French is an absolute plus to work smoothly with the group and production sites.
    o You must be prepared to travel in UK, France, Belgium and occasionally to other countries.
