The famous Quaglino's restaurant in London has appointed Belgian chef Konrad Inghelram as their new Head Chef. Konrad Inghelram's distinguished culinary career includes time spent as a chef with the 2 Michelin Star- Restaurant, Au Vigneron in Ostende and he was founder of the well-known Koksijde School. Konrad, who comes from Ostende in Belgium has also been a chef on a number of prestigious cruise ships such as the QE2 and Vista Fjord. He later became Corporate Chef for Harrod's of Knightsbridge, where his talents were enjoyed by owner Mohammed Al-Fayed and many famous guests including Jesse Jackson, Posh Spice Victoria Beckham and many others.

Quaglino's is part of the D&D restaurant group in London and Konrad is to be responsible for training through all the Group's restaurants. His main brief is to uphold the Quaglino philosophy of offering modern brasserie-style cuisine for the enjoyment of customers. ‘There's lots of opportunity for talented people in London,' says Konrad. ‘ After all these years here, I really feel at home.' And a restaurant in Belgium? ‘Maybe in the long term,' he adds, ‘but for the moment, I am enjoying the challenges that the City brings.' |
